since my last post. That is a long time. A lot happened in one and a half years. So, I ask myself, how do you catch up from that? I guess I'll start with Lana.
A few months after my last post I found out I was pregnant with our third child. This pregnancy had me sick every night. I only ever have time to blog at night, so sick every night equals no blogging for the whole pregnancy. Pete initially did not want to find out what we were having while I was pregnant. Some of you know how excruciating this was for me, but I tried to be a good sport. Thankfully, Pete could not stand it any longer at that 20 week appointment when the ultrasound tech told us she knew what we were having. Pete really can't deal with surprises. Especially if he knows he can find out what the surprise is. When the technician told us we were having a girl, I was in complete shock. I think I had just decided that we would only have boys. I had always wanted to have a little girl, but just decided that God's plan was boys and more boys. Instantly, I had to have every pink thing that I saw!
We had picked the name Lana as our girl name before Kent was born. We watched a lot of Smallville then and Lana Lane was the love interest for Clark Kent. She is Lois Lane's cousin and was a minor character in the comic books. FYI- Pete and Laura are both names of minor characters in the Superman comic books. So, seven years later we have both our Kent and Lana with Cohen thrown in the middle. Cohen is not a name from the Superman comics (that I know of). I did however get the idea for his name from another TV show! What is wrong with me!?!
Lana Isabel LaQuaglia was born January 11th, 2012. She was 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long. Tiny compared to the boys who were both 8 pounders! Isabel was Pete's Spanish Grandmother's name and we just love the name. We miss Pete's spunky Grandmother and I love the Spanish spelling of her name.
Here are the some of the first photos of Lana:
