Christmas Morning

We've had a wonderful Christmas here at the LaQuaglia's. When Kent woke up Daddy told him to run and see if Santa had brought any presents. Kent ran out to the living room, but never came back. By the time we all got out there, Kent had already opened up two presents!

Kent opened up each present hoping it was the Fearless Freddie train. The very last present he opened was Fearless Freddie. We were just glad we got that train for him; we had no idea till today how much he wanted it. Whew!

Cohen had a great time watching and rolling around in the paper.

Here is a message from the boys. They wanted to remind us Christmas is really about :)

Sneaky Kent

I was in the shower when Kent busted in telling me that he needed more fritos. First I was shocked because Kent usually just sits on the couch and watches Thomas when I get ready each day. Then I was confused about why he needed MORE fritos when we hadn't had any at all yet that day considering it was only 8:30 in the morning. As soon as he heard the bathroom door open, Kent came running back to me once again telling me urgently, "mommy, we need more fritos-hurry!" I ran after him to the living room wondering what he could have been up to. This is what I found:

Kent had dumped an entire, brand new bag of fritos all over his train track. He filled up all the cargo cars with fritos and had Emily crashing over and over into a mountain of fritos sending frito crumbs all over the living room.

We had a very, very long talk about playing with food...

Christmas Festivities

We've done many Christmas activities this year. Here are a few that we wanted to share:

Kent had his Christmas performance at preschool. It was very cute! Kent stood tall and sang every song.

Kent had his Christmas party at preschool, which was a lot of fun. The kids learned how to play musical chairs. We all learned that this was a hard game to teach a bunch of 3 & 4 year olds! Kent did not understand that you could sit in any chair and got very upset about other kids sitting in HIS CHAIR. At first he sat himself out on his own.

Then he decided to give it a try. This picture is right before he tried to push the little girl in red out of his chair.

This is Kent's class and his sweet teachers Miss Stacey (L) and Miss Janice (R). He loves having lots of girls around; he is always learning new things. If you ask him his favorite color right now, he will tell you it's pink. He also recently came home from the book fair requesting the Barbie Shine 'n Sparkle Castle sticker book. Pete is still trying to get over it.

We also celebrated Christmas at Grammy and Pa Pa's house (Pete's dad and step-mom). Here is Kent and Cohen with their cousins Cici and Chasen. Cici took super good care of Cohen all night.

Three Months Old!

Cohen was three months old on December 16th. I can't believe that three months have already passed. I think this is because days do not feel seperate if you have less than six hours of sleep a night. Oh, but I love my wide awake Cohen!

Here is our new family of four photo:

Merry Christmas!

Here are our Christmas photos of the boys!

Questions Part 2

Kent asked yesterday about a photo where he was a baby. He said, "Look mommy, Cohen is holding me in the picture." I told him that the picture was of him as a baby and Cohen wasn't here when Kent was a baby. He looked puzzled and asked, "Where is Cohen at?" I thought I learned my lesson and decided to respond with what my mom always said to me. "Cohen wasn't here yet Kent, he was still just a twinkle in mommy's eye." Kent looked even more puzzled and then after a few moments, he smacked his forhead and said, "Oh mommy, Cohen was IN YOUR EYE!"

I can foresee that the "Where Babies Come From" conversation is going to be even more complicated...

Questions from Kent

Kent is a very inquisitive little boy who always wants to know where he was in any picture where he is not included. Explaining this to him is proving to be very tricky...

We have a large wedding portrait hanging in our bedroom and I caught Kent looking at it one day. He turned to me and asked, "Mommy, is that when you were a princess?" I of course said YES! and immediately told him he was getting lots of presents for Christmas. :) I asked him if daddy was a prince and he said, "No mommy, daddy's is a man!" I knew the next question coming... Kent asked, "Mommy, where is Kent in the picture?" I explained that Kent and Cohen were not here yet; they were still in mommy's tummy. Now whenever we have people over he will point to any wedding picture and say, "That's mommy and daddy when mommy was a princess. I'm still inside mommy's tummy."

This is NOT the message I want to send.

Santa Claus!

We took some pictures with Santa at our annual Young Families Christmas Party at church. Santa was one of Pete's customers who supports orphans in the Ukraine with his Santa donations. Kent wasn't the least bit scared; he jumped right up on Santa's lap and asked for trains...big surprise!

Sleepy Boy!

One thing to know about Kent is that when he is asleep, he is out. He can fall asleep anywhere and his choice of location never seems to bother him. He probably got this trait from me...I guess I'm also known for my strange sleeping habits.

Half on the cot, half off.

In the doorway of his room.

Amidst the chaos. He was supposed to be cleaning up, but decided to take a break.
